American Book Exchange was started the first month of 1993 by two farmers. Prior to that time, we were buying just good books mostly in Oklahoma and Arkansas. We soon realized the schools needed to have someone remove ALL of their out of adoption textbooks because of lack of space and increased land fill costs. We then decided to start buying ALL the books from the schools. We purchased a warehouse, forklifts, trucks and trailers, book cutters and began our over fifteen year venture into buying and recycling.
Our service area includes schools and colleges in Alabama, Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, parts of Tennessee and occasionally Oklahoma, depending on the quantity of books available at particular locations. American Book Exchange abides by all state guidelines for textbook purchasing and disposal.
